A few changes to our 2020-2021 Governor Training 

Working to deliver effective and engaging Governor training in these very different times certainly presents challenges for us all. It means we must try to find ways to work within ‘the new normal’.

Here at Sigma, we have implemented a few changes to respond to the situation, therefore all our Sigma colleagues are now working from home and will continue to do so for the time being.  Should you wish to contact us, please click here

We have also carefully considered how we can proceed with our training for the new academic year whilst ensuring your safety and wellbeing.

It is for this reason we have decided to move our 2020-2021 Governor courses,  including those postponed from 2019-2020 to an online platform.

Each course has been carefully designed to meet the needs of governors in all settings and phases of schools including Academies and Maintained Schools. They have been designed by experts from the Sigma Teaching School including National Leaders of Governance.

All of the courses provide governors with the skills and knowledge to confidently carry out their role in line with the governance competency framework.

Online Training

From September 2020 we will be using an online platform to deliver our Governor training rather than face to face training. This will still allow you to feel part of group learning and will still be led by our highly experienced facilitators. There will be opportunities to ask questions and participate as you would in a normal training session.  Our booking process will still remain the same and will be explained in more detail below.

We look forward to meeting you online and will of course keep you updated throughout the autumn term regarding when we are able to offer  face to face once again.

Booking Process

All of our Governor training can be booked via the links shown in the course table below. This will take you to the CPD SW portal to complete your details and register for your chosen webinar(s). The portal is quick and easy to use by individuals wanting to book a webinar, or group bookings which can be made by one staff member on behalf of others.

Once a booking has been made you will receive confirmation via email, please ensure you include your email address at the time of booking. We will then invoice your school for payment.

Prior to the course commencing, you will be sent a link to the online session for you to log into on the day and time of your course.  Simply click on this link to join.

 GET  Governance Subscription Bundles

As part of our  GET  (Gateway to Essential Training) Governance programme, we are thrilled to be able to offer Governor training packages for a one off annual cost  that will provide access to all our Governor training throughout the 2020-2021 academic year. There are options based on the number of Governors you wish to receive training, be it new Governors, or those who require refresher training. This  approach will ensure the ongoing commitment to Essential Governor Training.
